Over 20 years ago I started my journey as a health and fitness professional . During that time I earned my Bachelors and Master's degree's in Exercise Physiology from The University of Akron and obtained certifications through the American College of Sports Medicine, TRX and The American Heart Association.
My knowledge and experience reaches beyond just making people sweat and get sore from a workout. I have an extensive background working in medically based fitness programs where I have gained a tremendous knowledge of post-surgical/ injury rehabilitation exercises and treatments. I've had the opportunity to work with a wide range of groups, from clients trying to get their normal life back after hip replacement surgery to training Division I college athletes trying to make their way in to the starting line-up.
In my years of working with people I have seen many exercise and diet fads come and go, the one thing that hasn't changed is the willingness and drive of my clients to better themselves in ways that go beyond fitness. A love of fitness and physical activity has always been a part of our lives and our relationship. It's something we feel is important to share with our children and we are both passionate about sharing it with all of you.
I am certified through the American Council on Exercise as a Group Fitness Instructor and a Sports Performance Specialist. I have coached many runners across the finish lines of their first half marathons and very much enjoy coaching youth travel soccer for Hudson United Soccer Club. I am also a proud coach of Fit4Mom Hudson, Twinsburg, Streetsboro's Run Club, Body Well, Body Boost and Strides 360 programs.
As many of the athletes that have trained with me will tell you, my coaching philosophy is centered around the importance of consistency, teamwork and enjoying the training that you're completing.
